Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) CAHL4 (2024), AHL4 (2023), CIGL3 (2024) and IGL3 (2023), Grass Buffer Strips, requires there to be an intact grass swards throughout the year to provide a habitat for wildlife and to support an integrated pest management (IPM) approach.. These schemes are static actions, and must therefore be carried out on the same area of land each year of the agreement. Buffer strips can be established more quickly by sowing seed mixes, rather than from natural regeneration.
