SFI AHL2 - Winter Bird Food
Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) AHL2, Winter Bird Food, requires that there are areas of winter bird food that produce a supply of small seeds for smaller farmland birds from November to February, and flowering plants for beneficial insects through the summer. AHL2 is a rotational action, and can therefore be carried out on the same area of land each year, or can be moved around the farm. The seed mix must contain a minimum of 6 species that will provide an extended supply of small seeds for farmland birds, and cannot include artichokes, reed canary grass, giant or intermediate sorghum, maize, miscanthus, sweet clover or tic beans.
