How to plant wildflower plug plants?
The first thing to do is prepare the ground - remove any weeds or other debris that may affect the growth of your wildflowers. (Adding compost on top of the soil before you plant can prevent the weeds froms growing back.)
Once the ground is prepared, water your plugs before planting and then plant them evenly across the space, around 3-4 cm apart. Once planted make sure to keep them watered during their first six weeks.
Should I buy wildflower plug plants or wildflower seed?
Wildflower plugs are the best choice if you want to get an established wildflower garden growing quickly. Wildflower plants can also be a great choice if you have coarse soil that is especially difficult to grow in. If you’re looking to extend the flowering time of your wildflowers you can plant both wildflower plugs and seed.
When should I plant wildflower plug plants?
The best time to plant wildflower plugs is between September and May - avoid planting your plugs if the soil is hard, dry or frozen.
